June 23, 2022 – I believe we found the Buyer of $363 Million Dollar Waterfront Land in Brickell?
Today June 23 the news broke out that Ken Griffin of the hedge fund Citadel is moving the companies headquarters from Chicago to Miami. This is amazing news for the city of Miami. I have been saying for years that Miami, and Brickell in particular is becoming a mini-Manhattan and this move is another step in that direction.
In light of this news I had been researching the purchase of the Waterfront parcel of land on Brickell Bay Drive that had sold two months ago for a record price of $363 million. The odd part of that purchase was that typically when it’s a residential developer shortly there after they announce their plans for development to start building momentum and interest in the project.
Even though it’s only been two months no one has been able to identify the buyer and non has heard of any plans for the project. Since that closing I have been doing research and speaking to industry insiders’ about it, and I was able to confirm that the project is set to be an office tower with a possible hotel component.
Well, with today’s news it solidifies my belief that Ken Griffin of Citadel is the buyer of 1201 Brickell Bay Drive and will build a world class, never seen before in Miami office tower that’s going to bring the best of the best to Miami and the Brickell area. Today is a great day for our city. Being born and raised in Miami really makes me proud of how the city continues to grow.
Ken and Citadel… Welcome to Miami. If you or any of your associates need help moving to Miami I would be happy to help. Once again welcome and Thank You for believing in this wonderful city.
